Because of its unique pistils, which are known as the precious saffron spice, the saffron flower is one of the most valuable flowers in the world. The saffron spice obtained is one of the most expensive in the world and is therefore called “red gold”. As an ode to the saffron flower, Daum dedicates a complete collection to it. Like the yellow-golden spice that colours dishes, Daum’s saffron collection is rich in warm colours that glow wonderfully from amber to red.

The exceptionally beautiful and harmonious colour gradient is due to the elaborate manufacturing process. Each “Saffron” vase by Daum is made of crystal glass paste. It consists of a very difficult mixture of crystal and lead granules. This crystal glass paste can be processed in a different way than usual in crystal glass production. It melts like wax under the hands of the Daum glass art masters, so that objects of extraordinary shape and colour are created.

Enclosed small air bubbles are a sign of the special manufacturing process.
